Description: Tang Dynasty Pottery Horse and Lady Rider, 618-907 AD; the horse and rider are beautifully sculpted and painted, the lady wears traditional robes and a half flying bun hairstyle. Note: Women in the Tang Dynasty were acutely aware of the nuances of fashion. Women's fashion was principally expressed through clothing, hairstyles, and makeup, much like today. The Lady in this sculpture wears her hair in a half flying bun (Banfanji).
Condition: Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration expected with possible areas of restoration.
