Anglo Indian Micro Mosaic Card Case, 19th C Description: Anglo Indian Sadeli Micro Mosaic Card Case, 19th Century; featuring a star and micro mosaic patterned case with ivory sides. This micro mosaic style/ technique is known as Sadeli Ware . Sadeli Ware is an Indian technique that produced micro mosaic patterns by binding together rods of ivory, pewter, rosewood, ebony, and stained ivory. After they were glued together, the rods were sliced in transverse sections. This gave the maker the intricate circular mosaic pieces you see integrated into the design of this box.
